Badds showed us that he can compete at a US Open by his play at Oakmont two years ago. This venue should suit him better, an accurate long game and a short game magician. Appleby somehow qualified but other than that his game is a total mess. This one should be resolved by friday night.

de Jonge playing in his first open where Mallinger has made the cut in three of four. Mallinger is a California native with some good rounds at Pebble. de jonge with a good finish a few weeks ago but this is a different animal and Mallinger is more seasoned.

Stake 3 pts Steve Stricker  +100 over Padraig Harrington (ties lose, bet365) loss 3

Stricker should thrive this week on this setup. A decent record in opens where Harrington has mixed results. Something is off with Harrington, he couldn't build on a nice opening round a week ago. 

Stake 2.16 pts Camilo Villegas -108 over Dustin Johnson (centrebet) loss 2.16

Opposing Johnson as there has been a lot of hype and expectation around him. This course is totally different and his length will not do him any good this week. Villegas has the better iron game and short game.
