RESULTS 4-2 +5.2PTS
Stake 4.4 pts Fredrik Jacobson -110 over Adam Scott (pinnacle) WIN +4 PTS Ok so I am a big Jacobson supporter but this matchup stands out. Scott has not played much golf this season. He finshed near the bottom at Kapalua and then missed the cut at Sony. His next start was last week at the matchplay where he was bounced in the first round. Scott is making his debut at this difficult course, meanwhile Jacobson has a t6 and t5 in his two starts here. Freddie also has a stady season going only missing one cut and the rest of his four starts are no worse than t33. Stake 3.3 pts Jimmy Walker -110 over Steve Marino (thegreek) WIN +3 PTS I think Marino's choke-job at Pebble is going to linger for a long time. It certainly looked as though he was going to break through but some very poor shots and a D.A Points hole out for eagle prevented Marino from getting that elusive first wins. He comes into this event with some bad memories has he WD'd last yerar and missed the cut in 2009. Walker's season thus far has been his best ever with three top 10's already, two of which were in his last two starts. Stake 2.9 pts Tom Gillis -145 over Alex Prugh (5dimes) LOSS -2.9 PTS A bit of juice to give up here but Gillis is far more consistent than Prugh who is prone to put up some big numbers. Prugh is known for his west coast play so the shift to Florida and a very difficult track may be a tough adjustment for Prugh. Stake 2 pts Luke Donald +100 over Lee Westwood (5dimes) WIN +2 PTS It was a long week for Donald but he never trailed and never saw the 18th hole. It was as far as I can remember, the most dominant performance at the matchplay. This is week is also nothing but good vibes. Donald got his first PGA Tour win at the Honda Classic in 2006 albeit a different host course. in 2008 he finished once shot back of winner Ernie Els, lipping out his birdie attempt from the fringe on 18. As Donald's game is all coming together it is obvious something is awry with Lee. He got bounced again early at the matchplay and lost his #1 world ranking. Stake 2pts Robert Karlsson -200 over Henrik Stenson (extrabet) LOSS -2 PTS No problem here as Stenson is very lost at the moment. In the past year Karlsson is 4-0-1 against Stenson and this course is no place to bring an erratic game. Stenson won't see the weekend here while I think Karlsson is a contender. Stake 1pt Ernie Els +110 over Vijay Singh (extrabet) WIN +1.1 I am not entirely sold on Vijay yet as he is quoted as saying is isn't hitting the ball very well but his scrambling has been outstanding. Els is a winner here and although his form recently has been indifferent he does seem to play well when least expected. Singh may not be able to get away with loose shoots this week as there are plently of water hazards this week. |
