result: 0-9, -4.41 after round 3: position now: Vijay Singh: 95.99 Henrik Stenson: 95.86 The Field: -4.41 to leave in-running: LAY Henrik Stenson to a liability of 25pts @4 (i.e. stake 8.33pts) -- unmatched LAY Henrik Stenson to a liability of 10pts @2 (i.e. stake 10pts) -- unmatched LAY Vijay Singh to a liability of 25pts @6 (i.e. stake 5pts) -- unmatched LAY Vijay Singh to a liability of 10pts @3 (i.e. stake 5pts) -- unmatched ------------------------------- BACK Adam Scott to win 50pts @36 (i.e. stake 1.43pts) Scott has been lightly raced so far this year and has shown signs that his game is very nearly there, without yet being able to put it altogether in to 4 consecutive good rounds. There are many similarities to Augusta with this course and he has been 2nd and 8th in the last two Masters, while also having a 4th and a 5th here. He has also recently done well at Firestone, which is nearby. BACK K.J. Choi to win 100pts @170 (i.e. stake 0.59pts) At this sort of price a player with the winning record of Choi is always attractive - even more so when it's an event he has won before. Went off the boil after starting the season well but has been back to Korea which may have helped recharge the batteries. BACK D.A. Points to win 100pts @200 (i.e. stake 0.5pts) Did very well down the stretch and in the playoff against fierce opposition at Quail Hollow a few weeks back. Decent record in this event with a couple of top 25 finishes in the last two years. BACK Vijay Singh to win 100pts @250 (i.e. stake 0.4pts) A few hints in recent weeks that Vijay may be on the verge of being competitive again. During his prime he won and had many good finishes here. BACK Brandt Jobe to win 100pts @240 (i.e. stake 0.42pts) A player who seems to have a big problem with getting over the finish line, but this is a big price for a player who was 2nd here last year and 4th in his previous visit before that. BACK Henrik Stenson to win 100pts @370 (i.e. stake 0.27pts) Another Augusta link - would have led the Masters on day 1 but for a last hole disaster. Still very hit and miss but is capable of winning in this class. BACK Chris Kirk to win 100pts @290 (i.e. stake 0.35pts) Can hopefully build on his storming final round in to the top 5 last week, which may signal a return to form after some off the course problems. BACK Trevor Immelman to win 100pts @400 (i.e. stake 0.25pts) BACK Fred Couples to win 100pts @510 (i.e. stake 0.2pts) The last two Augusta links. Immelman's career has stagnated a bit since his Masters win, partly due to injury problems. Couples also has a constant battle with his back, but it would be no surprise to see either contend here and are worth backing at these prices. |
