Van Pelt has the better overall course and current form compared to the Scot who, after a bright start the PGA Tour season, appears to be struggling with his game of late. Van Pelt should also be carrying a lot of confidence after his dominant victory at the Asia Pacific Classic in late October.

The latest weather forecast strongly suggests the afternoon starters may have a significant advantage today with the morning starters facing cold conditions and gusting winds. With Kuchar off in the afternoon and also possessing much the more consistent course form he's a confident selection.

5.5pts Sergio Garcia at 10/11 v Adam Scott (BetFred)

Scott is making his seasonal reappearance and history indicates he's likely to need an outing or two to get back into the golfing groove. No such doubts about Garcia who is also amongst the later starters unlike Scott.
