Result: 1-13, +0.96 after round 3: LAY Carl Pettersson to a liability of 50pts @13.5 (i.e. stake 4pts) position now: Carl Pettersson: 47.68 Trevor Immelman: 101.1 David Lynn: 101.06 The Field: 0.96 to leave in-running: LAY Carl Pettersson to a liability of 10pts @3 (i.e. stake 5pts) --unmatched LAY Carl Pettersson to a liability of 10pts @2.5 (i.e. stake 6.67pts) --unmatched LAY Trevor Immelman to a liability of 25pts @6 (i.e. stake 5pts) --unmatched LAY Trevor Immelman to a liability of 25pts @3 (i.e. stake 12.5pts) --unmatched LAY David Lynn to a liability of 25pts @9 (i.e. stake 3.13pts) --unmatched LAY David Lynn to a liability of 25pts @6 (i.e. stake 5pts) --unmatched ------------------------------------------- I think Jason Dufner and Justin Rose have some fairly strong claims here however it seems I wasn't alone in those thoughts and the price on both has come in just a bit too far to see them as clear value. Instead I will go for a selection of outsiders, who if you combine all their odds would come to around 32/1 - so 13 chances for less than the price of one Dufner.. BACK Carl Pettersson to win 100pts @140 (i.e. stake 0.72pts) BACK Simon Dyson to win 100pts @240 (i.e. stake 0.42pts) BACK Anders Hansen to win 100pts @350 (i.e. stake 0.29pts) BACK John Rollins to win 100pts @400 (i.e. stake 0.25pts) BACK Ken Duke to win 100pts @500 (i.e. stake 0.2pts) BACK Mark Wilson to win 100pts @720 (i.e. stake 0.14pts) BACK Brian Davis to win 100pts @430 (i.e. stake 0.23pts) BACK Trevor Immelman to win 100pts @730 (i.e. stake 0.14pts) BACK Johnson Wagner to win 100pts @600 (i.e. stake 0.17pts) BACK Matt Every to win 100pts @580 (i.e. stake 0.17pts) BACK George McNeil to win 100pts @950 (i.e. stake 0.11pts) BACK Marcus Fraser to win 100pts @910 (i.e. stake 0.11pts) BACK David Lynn to win 100pts @1000 (i.e. stake 0.1pts) Pettersson won in this state on a coastal course at Hilton Head earlier this season. Dyson is excellent on links courses which may adapt well to here. Hansen has been playing well and has something of a decent record in this event. Think the course should suit Rollins. Duke has had a mini-revival in his career since winning the Nationwide Tour Championship last year just up the road on Daniel Island. Wilson wins too often on tour to be going off at this price. Brian Davis is another with Hilton Head form and is now based nearby in Florida. Immelman has fond memories of Kiawah Island after winning the World Cup here with Sabbatini in 2003. Wagner is another like Wilson who has proven himself as a winner. Matt Every, like Duke, won the Nationwide Tour Champ very close to here and was also 8th at Hilton Head earlier this year. A native Floridian he plays his best in this part of the world. Also in that category is George McNeill. Fraser and Lynn have both being doing ok on the European Tour and while that form may not translate at these prices it's worth a flier. |
