This event has thrown up some funky results in the past with some very long odds winners and also inspired final round performances from players who you would have expected to wilt under the pressure of the supposed 5th major (Clark, Ames). My strategy this week can be summed up in one word: scattergun.

BACK Steve Stricker to win 25pts @44  (i.e. stake 0.58pts)
BACK Peter Hanson to win 50pts @95  (i.e. stake 0.53pts)
BACK K.J. Choi to win 75pts @130  (i.e. stake 0.58pts)
BACK Bill Haas to win 75pts @140  (i.e. stake 0.54pts)
BACK Carl Pettersson to win 75pts @130  (i.e. stake 0.58pts)
BACK Camilo Villegas to win 100pts @330  (i.e. stake 0.3pts)
BACK Rory Sabbatini to win 100pts @620  (i.e. stake 0.16pts)
BACK Charley Hoffman to win 100pts @480  (i.e. stake 0.21pts)
BACK Mark Wilson to win 100pts @340  (i.e. stake 0.29pts)
BACK Y.E. Yang to win 100pts @290  (i.e. stake 0.35pts)
BACK Greg Chalmers to win 100pts @350  (i.e. stake 0.29pts)
BACK John Rollins to win 100pts @230  (i.e. stake 0.44pts)
BACK Brian Gay to win 100pts @370  (i.e. stake 0.27pts)
BACK Chad Campbell to win 100pts @560  (i.e. stake 0.18pts)
BACK Retief Goosen to win 100pts @400  (i.e. stake 0.25pts)
BACK Johnson Wagner to win 100pts @320  (i.e. stake 0.31pts)
BACK Harrison Frazar to win 100pts @980  (i.e. stake 0.1pts)
BACK Chez Reavie to win 100pts @770  (i.e. stake 0.13pts)
BACK Billy Mayfair to win 100pts @950  (i.e. stake 0.11pts)

Too many to go in to detailed reasoning. Hoping Stricker might fall in to that unexpected inspired winning performance category. Hanson has popped up in the two biggest events of the season so far - 3rd at The Masters and 4th in the WGC at Doral - another Floridian course with prominent water features. Choi too big a price for last year's winner. Haas too big a price for someone who has won as often as he has, likewise Pettersson. Villegas has suffered from injury but has two full events under his belt in the last 2 weeks and will relish being back in his adopted home state of Florida and on a course where he has done well before. The rest are really just what seem like too big prices on players who are in the main proven winners.
