7pts Steve Stricker at evs to beat Zach Johnson (betvictor) Stricker has much the better U.S. Open record (leading Johnson 6:1) and finished in the top 10 the last time the tournament was held at Olympic in 1998 when he partnered good friend and eventual champion Lee Janzen in the final round. What could also prove decisive is the consenus of opinion that Olympic is likely to favour faders of the ball. Johnson stock shot is a draw and may well struggle to adapt his game. Stricker on the other hand should have no problems having already proved himself at the "fader's paradise" down the road at Riviera where he was runner-up in 2009 and champion in 2010. Stricker looks a decent wager at even money. 6.6pts Jim Furyk at 10/11 to beat Zach Johnson (jenningsbet) As above, Furyk also leads Johnson 6:1 in U.S. Opens, finished a solid 14th at Olympic in 1998 and is in a consistent seam of form. He also boasts a very respectable U.S. Open pedigree with a win, 4 top 10's and just 2 missed cuts in 16 appearances in his national open. 5pts double Furyk to beat Zach Johnson & Sergio Garcia to beat Bubba Watson at a fraction over 13/5 (jenningsbet) I'm not at all convinced we're going to see the best of Bubba this week given the whirlwind 6 weeks he's had since his Augusta triumph. Garcia's excellent current form and record in this tournament over the years make him an ideal candidate to take him on with and the double represents good value at the price.
