result: 0-3, -2.68 BACK Brandt Snedeker to win 50pts @32 (i.e. stake 1.61pts) BACK Steve Stricker to win 50pts @70 (i.e. stake 0.72pts) BACK John Merrick to win 100pts @290 (i.e. stake 0.35pts) Snedeker must be very high up the list of players ready to make the major breakthrough. He's contended in enough that it would be no surprise if he did again here and he's won enough regular events, most recently the Canadian Open two weeks ago, that it would be no surprise for him to finally get over the line in one. Time is running out for Stricker to cap his career with a major win, doubly so given a self admitted inability to compete at Augusta with his ball flight and having seemingly given up on The Open in favour of celebrating his wedding anniversary. Given that lack of options he must be targetting this one, it also looks like a course on which he can compete. The last time this event was held at Oak Hill the top 5 featured almost entirely players at 3 figure odds so perhaps this is a course for a shock winner. Merrick ticks a lot of boxes, having a win to his name this year at Riveria, and is in decent form from his last two outings, including a course record equalling 62 in the second round at the Canadian Open. |
