KEVIN STADLER to beat RICKIE FOWLER 6pts at 5/6 (Ties included) with Bet365

You could not get two more contrasting fortunes on this week's match-up bet. Cuddly Kev is having a storming season, bumping along his super-accurate tee shots with some typically reliable GIR stats for this season too. Short putts have always been Stadler's bugbear, he has even said he needs to make as much money as possible before 1st January 2016, as he has a killer curse of the full-on yips, so when he has to move back to conventional putting, he is toast! That said he held his nerve very well to pip Bubba two weeks ago at The Phoenix Open, you cannot put a price on the confidence that gives for a man who was yearning for his first ever PGA Tour Win. It is an obvious call, but he could have a big season. Riviera welcomes accuracy, Stadler has it in abundance.

Rickie Fowler however, is having a shocker. ‘Minor' swing changes with new coach Butch Harmon seem to be having a major effect on his golf at the moment, and even though I have the utmost respect for both player and coach, if there is money to be made (even if it is preying on a slump in form for a popular player like Fowler), we have to take them on. I am not sure if recurring back problems are affecting him, but he seems a long way off getting back to anywhere near his best. Riviera punishes people who are not on their game, it could get tricky for Rickie.

JIMMY WALKER to win GROUP A versus Dustin Johnson, Webb Simpson, Jordan Spieth, Hunter Mahan : 1pt win @  4/1 Ladbrokes

Don't jump off the juggernaut that is Jimmy Walker this week, this is his favourite venue on the PGA Tour and I see no reason why his 300+ power fade bombs off the tee will land in the middle of the fairway and yield more birdies this week. Yes he joins the elite golfers in this top group, and Webb Simpson looks a danger to me, but I think 4/1 is too big to ignore.
