First up is Scott Piercy, who rates a value pick to outscore Ryan Moore in Paddy Power's dnb matchup. The pair boast comparable course form, three top 10's apiece since 2009, and there's little between them on the head-to-heads, but Moore's withdrawal following a second round 77 on a resort course last week has to be a major concern. Piercy didn't give himself enough opportunities last week (disappointing G.I.R stats) but a runner-up effort in the Sony Open prior to that confirms he's in good nick. 5.5 pts Scott Piercy to beat Ryan Moore at 10/11 (dnb) Paddy Power Next in is last week's fast-finishing pair Charley Hoffman and Brendan Steele, with the former taken to edge it this time. Sunday movers can often be flattered by their eventual position given they are competing away from the heat of battle, but the all-round stats suggest Hoffman was full value for his runner-up finish, which cannot be said of Steele. Charley leads the long-term head-to-heads and is taken to outclass his opponent, who admittedly can boast the superior course form of late, but Hoffman did post a runner-up effort in the tournaments old guise, the FBR Open. 5.5 pts Charley Hoffman to beat Brendan Steele at 10/11 Stan James Many punters will view this event as the first serious marker for assessing player's current well-being ahead of formulating Masters positions, and Green Jacket holder Bubba Watson looks the call to outperform Jordan Spieth this week. Bubba was certainly an expensive in-running loser for some in ths 12 months ago, but is a player to keep on-side once showing a liking for a particular test, and while potential World Number One Spieth ended last season in blistering form, he lacks a recent outing and this is his tournament debut. 4.4 pts Bubba Watson to beat Jordan Spieth at 10/11 Ladbrokes |
