Rickie Fowler 1 pt ew 33/1 Don’t think I have ever backed Fowler and would never back him outright because to be frank I wouldn’t trust him to sit the right way on a lavatory! I have been looking for a player who can go low at Augusta and who has been performing well early doors – Fowler ticks both those boxes. In his last five visits he has shot three rounds of 67 and one of 68 which is usually enough to get it done e/w in round one – below are the years and the relevant rounds and how that compared to the field 2013 Rd 1 68 4th 2014 Rd 3 67 2nd 2015 Rd 4 67 3rd 2017 Rd 2 67 1st So in 4 of his last 18 rounds he has managed a score low enough to get a place or a win – all he has to do is do it in round one! When you look at his recent round one finishing positions I think he has a good chance – this year they read 4/84/2/36/8/4/5 Last year in 23 starts he led outright twice – the US Open and the Houston Open and over the last 12 months leads the PGA tour in first round scoring average
