Uniting Fore Care Classic
Outright plays (2 units):
Doug Tewell to win 14/1 e.w. @ Sean Graham
Five consecutive top-10 finishes or six in his last seven with the anomaly being
11th in the U.S. Senior Open and it is clear that Tewell should be a contender
this week. Having won on this course in 1999 as well, I will be surprised if he
doesn't secure at least a top-5 finish.
Morris Hatalsky to win 16/1 e.w. @
Stan James
No course form for this 2002 debutant, but he displayed a welcome return to his
early summer form when he finished 3rd in the Long Island Classic. He secured
five top-5 finishes in six events in that golden run and currently ranks 3rd in
the all-round ranking on Tour (Tewell is ranked 2nd and Thorpe 8th). Good enough
to win, finally. Jim Thorpe to win
25/1 e.w. @ William
Hill or
SportsInteraction
Will consider Thorpe again now that he has taken a two-week rest. His last
uninterrupted spell of competitive golf ended with the Long Island Classic and
started with victory in the Tradition in April. That's fifteen consecutive
events! It was no surprise that he developed a trend of good week - bad week.
Has finished in the top-10 both times on this course and the last time he played
after a break, he won.
Final
update: 1-2; +15.20 units Tewell 33rd
Hatalsky 1st
Thorpe 8th Comfortable 12-point victory
for Hatalsky who lead throughout, though he was caught by John Jacobs after 36
holes. Definitely good enough to win. Almost a place win with Thorpe. He just
needed one more birdie to finish 3rd, but still a very good event.
