FINAL RESULT: 1-2; -1.00pts
Edwards 32nd
Bryant 2nd
Kite 10th
Bryant did get a share of the lead during the final round, but couldn't keep
up with Gilder who had five birdies in eight holes from the 9th hole onwards.
Kite also had a last round charge, but finished two shots out of a place due to
a poor 2nd round while the discarded Beck at 66/1 did finish in the top-5.

David Edwards to win 16/1 e.w. @

With all selections available at 10/1 or less, I'll take them at 16s rather
Weibring at 28/1 or Beck at 66/1. Once again, as a Tour rookie, Edwards comes to
a course on which he has not played, but it has not been a problem previously
with three top-3 finishes in his last four starts, including one win, and a 3rd
place position in the Tour's Scoring Average chart. Simply a big price for such
a consistently impressive performer.
Brad Bryant to win 16/1 e.w. @

Bryant sits one place below Edwards in the Tour's Scoring Average charts and
consistency has also been the key to Bryant's high ranking in this important
stat. It has now been over six months since he finished outside the top-15 in an
event and he also has two wins in the process as well. It did look as though
that run would end in his last outing at the JELD-WEN Tradition, but he shot
67-67 over the weekend to climb from 57th to 14th. He was not playing anywhere
near as well twelve months ago when finishing 27th on his course debut, so a
much higher finish is expected this time.
Tom Kite to win 16/1 e.w. @

Kite has not been quite as consistent and the result is that he ranks only 8th
in the Tour's Scoring Average rankings, but that was because of poor earlier
form earlier in the season as he is arguably the hottest player on Tour at the
moment. He has finished in the top-5 in each of his last four starts, winning
once, and had been in the top-10 in his two starts before that. And having
already had one top-5 finish on this course, it is hard to see any other finish
for him this week. |
