FINAL RESULT: 0-3; -6.00pts
Morgan 41st
Hatalsky 36th
Pooley 16th
An event that started brightly when Hatalsky birdied the first three
holes to take the lead, but there was little else to cheer in the
remaining 51 holes. Pooley matched the winner, Brad Bryant,
shot-for-shot over the weekend, but his opening 73 was the reason he
finished five shots out of the lead and three shots out of the places.
Outright plays (total stake per play: 2pts)
Gil Morgan to win 20/1 e.w. @

and
William Hill
Morgan has done everything but win this event. He has finished in every
position in the top-7 except first and is certainly due a victory here.
He finished in 2nd place last week behind runaway leader, Tom Kite, but
it continued his excellent run in California where he is very rarely
outside the top-10 and he represents good value at 20/1 with a weakened
field this week.
Morris Hatalsky to win 22/1 e.w. @
BetInternet
Hatalsky is another with a very good record on this course. In four
years here, he has recorded three top-8 finishes, shooting just one
round over 70 and, like Morgan, each of his four Champions Tour starts
in California over the last 12 months has resulted in a top-10 finish.
Last week, he finished 4th and with a runners-up finish in his previous
event, he should not be 22/1 in this form.
Don Pooley to win 28/1 e.w. @
BetInternet
For the first three events of the season, there was no-one apart from
Loren Roberts who could match Pooley for form and while he finished a
lowly 46th on his return to the Champions Tour last week, there really
was little to compete for after an opening 79. He still remains 2nd on
the Charles Schwab Cup Points List and not worthy of 28/1 against a
weakened field. He has finishes of 10th, 27th and 4th on this course and
his overall record in California is very supportive. He has finished in
the top-5 in 21.4% of Champions Tour events in California compared of
12.8% of Champions Tour events elsewhere and for top-10 finishes, the
respective figures are 42.9% vs. 29.1%.
