1pt e/w Garth Mulroy 33/1 Ladbrokes At 33/1 Mulroy looks good value this week in an event dominated in recent years by home grown players. He finished in a solid 9th place last year when he may well have run out of steam having won the previous week at Leopard Creek and also boasts a 3rd place finish in his national open back in 2007 when he opened with an 80! Having tried his hand on both the PGA and European Tours this year with mixed success he should appreciate the drop in grade and tends to find his best form on home turf.
0.75pt e/w Trevor Fisher Jnr 40/1 Coral After 3 frustrating years in which he struggled to convert winning opportunities Fisher has found form with a vengeance in recent weeks with 3 victories in his last 7 starts. When we consider he was in nowhere near this kind of form coming into the event last year yet still finished in 6th place he has to enter calculations and is well worth an each way interest at a generous looking 40/1. 1.5pts e/w Matthew Baldwin top GB&I 13/2 Coral 1/4 1234 Baldwin looks a solid each way proposition in a market that will not take a lot of winning. His form on tour this year has been unspectacular but he remains a player of real potential and his 5th place finish in the Scottish Open in July is a cut above anything his opponents in this market have achieved this year. With a top ten finish in South Africa last year and some progressive recent form he's worth supporting here. |
