Kevin Phelan - 0.5 points each-way @ 200-1 (Corals 1/5/1234) 150-1 (Power 1/4 1234)
No time for a full article, but have to oppose most of the top lot given their reluctance to kick-on when challenging. Phelan has the game to compete at the highest level with more experience but these prices need to be taken before they catch the eye at the head of leaderboards. A superb amateur, Phelan has only shown snippets of form so far, but was 62nd at the 2013 US Open and has a couple of top-30s in South Africa already in the past year. Stats this week are excellent and if continuing the long game in similar fashion (24/28 fairways, 30 GIR) can perhaps perform in similar fashion to Thorbjorn Oleson and Morton Oren Madsen , both of whom kick-started their 'proper' full-time careers with decent finishes in this country. |
