**I am running a Betfair
account which is used exclusively for plays mentioned here on US Tour
events. Every single play I put up here will go immediately on my Betfair
account. The account started with £1000 and my rate will be
£20 per Point. The account is being used solely for Tour-Tips and will
therefore tell us exactly what the profit/loss record is, including commission costs. If you wish to take these
plays as recommendations, please do so but be aware that I can only
manage the bets that I have actually struck and cannot give updates for
other bets you may have had (or not had) - prices do fluctuate.**

A familiar look about the selections
as they've all been supported by me in the last three tournaments.
Sticking with Scott from last week as I still get the feeling he
shouldn't be the same odds as many of the players around him in the
betting. The one reason could be relative lack of course experience here
but if he is on song that would be no hindrance. The early 50/1 with the
bookies was excellent but I still think anything bigger than 33/1 is
value.
Had a good finish last week but in actual fact his long game was quite
poor whereas he did putt well; I'd be surprised if his long game let him
down for a second consecutive week and if the putter is still working a
big challenge looks a real possibility.
Furyk, much like at Warwick Hills 3 weeks ago, is on the team due
to excellent course form at a venue he firmly states is one of his
favourites all year. As with selecting him back then, he is coming off a
missed cut in a major but I am not concerned with that performance on a
strange course; he just never got it going last week and I don't see it
having any bearing on how he'll do at Firestone. Therefore I'll just
take the enhanced odds the missed cut has presented us!
Like Scott, Flesch is on my mind for a second successive week as
I thought he showed up very well at Whistling Straits. Struggled Sunday
after a six-six start, but the first three days saw lots of birdies for
him and his iron play was really good (tied-6th for hitting greens). All
in all it was a return to a bit of form and any progression this week
could see something better than last year's 11th on his debut here.
Especially if he feels determined to prove a point having narrowly
missed out on the Ryder Cup team yesterday and today. Don't see why he
should be 150/1 when similar (if not inferior) players like Kelly,
Riley, Howell, Westwood etc. are 100/1 and under.
It could work out that I will not be online (and therefore unable to
update these pages) through the week so there may not be any hedging
updates should anyone get involved in the finish. Just as if.....
