Spread Betting News (Sporting Index)

Summary: 6 Bets, 2 wins, 4 Losses, Total loss 16.8 Pts

Round One Trades

Sell Geoff Ogilvy over Justin Leonard at 6 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts. M/U 13, Loss 2.1 Pts
A 13-9 lead in R1 scores over 18 months for Ogilvy suggests that the price is too big. Recent form confirms Ogilvy as much the better player but a fair price here is possibly 3-6

Buy Zach Johnson over Michael Campbell at 3 with
Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts. M/U -22, Loss 7.5 Pts
Zach Johnson now has his place at the K CLub confirmed and can concentrate on this event now without looking at other players' scores. He faces Campbell, who bar that major win in 05', has really done nothing on this tour. Johnson has won the last 5 events they have both played in and is priced too low at 3.

Sell Tim Clark over Bart Bryant at 5 with
Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts. M/U 22, Loss 5.1 Pts
Bryant leads Clark 11-9 in R1 scoring suggesting that Clark is a slow starter and that is borne out by Bryant being behind Bjorn in R1 scoring but ahead overall. 5 is therefore value on known stats.

Sell Thomas Bjorn over Bart Bryant at 2 with
Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts. M/U 0, Profit 0.6 Pts
Bryant leads Bjorn in tournaments played by 4 to 3 and an 80 last week to start his major attempt shows that Bjorn is currently having problems with his game. This was the Dane's first start since the Open and that lack of match practice showed on his scorecard. Bryant hasn't been playing too well himself recently but shouldn't be a 2-5 outsider on this tour.

Buy Ben Crane over Gonzalo Fernandez Castano at 5 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts. M/U 13, Profit 2.4 Pts
Buy Tim Herron over Johan Edfors at 4 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts. M/U -13, Loss 5.1 Pts
In both cases we have seasoned PGA pro's playing against European players who have yet to show they can perform in the US. Missed cuts for both European's last week suggests that both the American's should be higher priced than they currently are.
