Summary: 3 Bets, 2 Wins, 1 Loss. Profit 14.64 Pts Bet 1 - Sell Tiger Woods over Ernie Els 72H MB at 5.65 with Sporting Index / Bet HiLo for 0.6 Pts M/U 7, Loss 0.81 Pts A repeat of last weeks' trade where Els won by a stroke after an uncharacteristic 43 on the Sunday "Back 9" by Woods. It may seem as if we are ready to give the money back opposing a player with so many WGC titles and a 2/1/1 record round here but the chance of this has been over factored into the price. Els averages 10th place in his last 5 starts here and with all these results to mull over you could argue Woods should be allocated a stroke a round here at the most. Bet 2 - Sell Adam Scott over Brett Quigley 18H MB at 6 with Sporting Index / Bet HiLo for 0.3 Pts M/U -19, Profit 7.5 Pts Possibly just a little too high, this price, as Quigley has made every cut at Doral averaging 35th place in the last 4 years. Scott, meanwhile, has only played here once and missed the cut, shooting 78 in his 2nd round. All other stats fall heavily towards Scott, but 6 is high over 18 holes and is value at that price though at no lower. Bet 3 - Sell Michael Campbell over Rory Sabbatini 18H MB at -1.5 with Sporting Index / Bet HiLo for 0.3 Pts M/U -28, Profit 7.95 Pts Sabbatini hasn't had the start to the year that he had last year but he still shouldn't be considered a "choice" bet with Campbell. On US soil, Campbell has struggled badly. He has of course his win in the US Open and subsequent 6th in the following US major, the PGA, in 2006. However, he has since missed his last 5 cuts on this tour and his 2007 form is poor with a 27th in Qatar, a missed cut in Dubai, a withdrawal in Malaysia and a R1 defeat in the Matchplay. Sabbatini has been poor too but has made 4 cuts of 7 and achieved a top 10 in the Nissan, better form overall than Campbell. |
