Stake 3pts Casey to beat Karlsson +100 @ The Greek Stake 3pts Westwood to beat Karlsson -110 @ Centrebet Karlsson has been in phenomenal form this season but Casey is arguably the more talented player with conditions in his favour. He must be full of confidence after his two recent top-ten finishes, he has a strong driving game suited to this course and has numerous good finishes here as opposed to Karlsson who has yet to hit a sub-70 round from his three previous starts. Casey has generally been disappointing this season but at some point he has to put together a number of strong finishes or he will could miss Ryder Cup selection which should hopefully drive him on for the up coming tournaments. The Westwood matchup is an intriguing battle between two players who have shown exceptional consistency this season, This season Westwood holds a narrow h2h lead of 6-4 over Karlsson and he has the better WGC form as well. But with Karlsson's poor form here and Westwood having respectable form here (and on a course which really should suit his game) I would have Westwood as the strong favourite. Stake 4pts Furyk to beat Els -110 @ WSEX Stake 3pts Furyk to beat Harrington -110 @ The Greek & Ladbrokes Furyk is a confident selection to figure prominently this week, it's just rather frustrating to back him outright of late. But with strong current form, excellent current stats (putting a bit ropey but not essential for this course) and superb course form with five top ten finishes from eight starts he must go close again. Els continues to put in some decent finishes despite a season riddled with inconsistency. But as Furyk holds a 6-1 h2h lead over Els at Firestone and a remarkable 13-4 h2h lead in all WGC events he must be viewed as value here. Harrington played very sensibly in the wind last week and his putter was hot. His recent stats don't actually show up that well and he ahs never mananged to finish ahead of Furyk here in six attempts. The reaction to winning the Open is probably not too much of a worry but he will need to be more accurate with his driver and irons than he has been recently to overcome Furyk. Stake 3pts Immelman to beat Goosen -105 @ WSEX Despite having a frustratingly inconsistent season Immelman surprisingly still leads Goosen in h2h's 6-4 this season. His recent display in the Open Championship will have boosted the morale of Immelman who has in previous years displayed an improvement in form as the season progresses. Goosen started encouragingly at Birkdale but ultimately disappointed as he did yet agin last week in Canada. Immeleman has some very decent course form, far stronger than Goosens, and has all the attributes to show up well this week. Immelman beaten by Goosen by 9
