Buy Colin Montgomerie at 9 on the Outright Index for 0.25 Pts with Sporting Index or Spreadex M/U 20, Profit 2.75 Pts

The intention this week is to play within a quarter, or bracket, of the draw and bet accordingly depending on the success of the initial bets. We are laying out 5.75 Pts which will be the total loss if both players fail in R1. If one or both proceed we will then look at future trades within that part of the draw, always allowing for no more than a 6pt risk overall.

The reason for these two players is their ability to play matchplay golf, something Cink has taken some time to get used to but who has been one of the better players for the US in the last few team competitions, especially in Singles play. In his last two matches, in the President's Cup and Ryder Cup he had O Hern and Garcia beaten easily from a long way out. Monty of course has such an enviable record long term in the Ryder Cup although has never quite brought it to this event. Course form can only be examined for last year and Cink got to the L16 whereas Monty got through a round and went out in the last 32. Their opponents in R1 fared no better though.

If Cink wins he faces the winner of Harrington/Kelly and if Monty wins its either Ames or Howell, success for both would see them meet up in R3.

With matches a bit of a lottery in this format, I wasn't intending to put any more bets up bar any trading on the above two outrights. However, having looked at the prices there is a bit of value in supporting the following players. The players to back are in capitals, their opponents lower case. The price is 10.5 which means we nearly get our money back if one player wins by 4 or more holes. If, in the extremely unlikely event, that all 7 win we return a 250 x stake bonus before any 10pt additions for 4 hole wins. The total cost if none win by 4 is 2.63 Pts.

Taking part of the stake back on Montgomerie at 19 after his win yesterday for a small outright bet. We return 1.37 Pts if he loses today but have ongoing profits were he to get thru, 2.62pts were he to lose to Cink or Harrington.

This price is wrong and although we are on Cink outright, it must be played as a separate bet. Harrington won easily yesterday against Kelly and this is what has made spreadex go 4-6 but Cink won easily too and we have pointed out above how good his Matchplay record is becoming.
