Stake 3pts Allenby to beat Stricker -105 @ Boyle Sports Two players at the top of their game. While Allenby has solid form at this course Stricker has regularly struggled both here and in Florida and in general lacks the consistency of Allenby. If Allenby's putting holds up, which has done previously on this course, then he should be favourite this week.
Stake 4pts Ames to beat Kaymer -110 @ Sportingbet Ames has had an inconsistent start but is not a great player on the west coast and is far more comfortable back in Florida. His previous form here is solid and his stats show his game to be in a decent state. Kaymer's form in the US in strokeplay events reads mc/57/mc/53/68/mc. Although his recent form is strong his putting isn't the strong part of his game and in his starts on this side of the pond his putting has generally been very poor.
Stake 2pts Choi to beat Kim +150 @ Unibet Stake 2pts McIlroy to beat Garcia +154 @ Pinnacle Stake 2pts Katayama to beat Imada +155 @ Unibet Three plays primarily because the price doesn't come close to reflecting any difference in ability. I still feel that Kim is regularly over-rated based on what he has achieved, he hasn't had a great start to the season, he has no course experience and Choi has three decent finishes here from his last four starts. McIlroy seems to be handling the pressure well, he is getting more experience of US course and greens and Garcia's putting... There is not a huge difference in these two players when comparing the h2h's and Imada has had hardly had a great start to the season and has poor form from three previous starts here.
Stake 3pts Oosthuizen to beat Curtis +105 @ FiveDimes Curtis's record in Florida shows 15 missed cuts from 25 starts and he has two missed cuts from three previous starts here. His recent form is not that inspiring either to justify his odds. Oosthuizen does not have a lot of US experience but he has had a sparkling start to his season and he is long off the tee and a very decent putter.
Stake 3pts Mahan to beat Sabbatini -110 @ Bet365 Both players have had a reasonable start to the season but neither has any decent form here. But Mahan has clearly progressed since those previous starts, is 22nd on the tour for ball striking this season while Sabbatini lies in 148th. He leads 10-5 in h2h's over the last 12 months and finished in front of Sabbatini in every WGC event last season.
Stake 3pts Z Johnson to beat Els +116 @ Pinnacle I like Johnson's chances wuite a bit this week. He has had a very good start to the season, he's striking the ball well and his form here is superb with three top ten and a top twenty finish from five starts. He also has a caddy who knows the greens well and has won here previously while on the bag. Ernie's game gets more frustrating with each passing week and he has done well here in the past but his 75th place finish here last season shows that he can easily throw in a bad performance. At these odds Johnson has to be considered the value.
