0-2; -4.30pts Round 3 play (2pts): Robert Allenby to beat Ernie Els +110 @ Paddy Power and Intertops [available generally] LOST by 1 Wouldn't back Allenby if he was leading and would become nervous if he took the lead too early in this round, but Allenby has become once again a very consistent performer who has already started the weekend in 2nd place in one PGA Tour event this season: he shot 67 in the Sony Open in Hawaii to take the lead after the 3rd round. By contrast, the last time that Els led any event heading into the weekend was back in 2008 (Singapore Open), the last time that he led an event in the U.S. after 36 holes was in 2007 (Verizon Heritage) and the time before that was the season-opening event in 2003! He was a great player, but wuch contention rust will only harm his chances this weekend. Round 4 play (2pts): Padraig Harrington to beat Ernie Els -115 @ Carib [also available @ Bet365 and Paddy Power] LOST by 6 Opposing Els for much the same reason as yesterday. The last time that he held the lead heading into the final round and was in the 2005 Asian Open and he didn't exactly look as though he would storm away from the field yesterday. Harrington's short game has been very good this week and he has been hitting more greens in regulation with every round. One shot off the lead and playing in the penultimate group this is a great set-up position for Pod to put the pressure on the South Africans.
