Volvo Masters of Asia
FINAL RESULT: 0-3; -3.00pts
Liang 14th
Wi 25th
Mo 39th
No chance of a return from Wi and Mo, but Liang had been 2nd after
rounds of 68 and 67. Rather unhappy that he shot 73-76 over the weekend
though!
Outright plays (1pt):
Wen-Chong Liang to win 22/1 e.w. @

Siding with Liang again. Kevin Na won this event (as a selection) in
2002 and it was his springboard to bigger things and has successfully
retained his PGA Tour Card for next season. The same future has been
predicted for Liang. He has finished in the top-20 in his last four
starts and in his last two visits here. This could easily be the week
that he earns his first Tour win.
Charlie Wi to win 22/1 e.w. @

Not quite the same course form, but Wi is certainly on a high at the
moment. He decided not to compete in the China Open two weeks ago as he
had just successfully negotiated the 2nd stage of the PGA Tour Q-School
and it paid off: last week he earned his 2005 Tour Card at the Final
Q-School and he did so with a closing 68 to make it right on the mark.
He could be expected to suffer a reaction from such a difficult week,
but I think it will go the other way. He has shown great form on this
Tour in recent months and will look to finish off his Asian PGA Tour
career (for now) in style with all the congrulations that he will
receive.
Joong-Kyung Mo to win 66/1 e.w. @

If there was a top-20 market, he would be a banker! He has achieved that
mark on each of his two previous visits and in seven of nine starts on
this Tour in 2004. A lot of players' form appears to be dropping off at
the moment and steady Joong-Kyung Mo looks as though he could certainly
be finishing higher up the leaderboard in this limited-field event.
