Matchup Picks - Asian PGA Tour

Tipster: Stanley

Odds: Matchups

Carlsberg Malaysian Open

FINAL RESULT: 0-2-0; -3.70pts

Lafeber/Fasth LOST by 6
McGinley/Fasth LOST (tied)

What a frustrating event. These two matches were very close throughout, but too close in the only match that didn't have a dead-heat rule to decide on ties. Could have had a decent profit from Malaysia, but instead got a total blank.

Matchup plays (1pt unless stated):

Maarten Lafeber to beat Niclas Fasth -120 @ Centrebet
Opposing Fasth won for the first time in five years last week; just expecting a negative reaction this week. He has never played on this course previously and his record in Malaysia is also one reason to oppose him: he has played here twice, missing the cut once and finishing 63rd the other time. No comparison with Lafeber who finished 7th on this course in 2001 and has a very good record in this region in general.
(also available at Paddy Power and Pinnacle)

Paul McGinley to beat Niclas Fasth -125 @ BlueSq and BetFred [2pts]
The same goes for McGinley. Since 1997, he has played on this course four times and in Malaysia six times and his worst finish has been 21st. He showed good form last at Pebble Beach and while he is an unlikely winner, he is far too consistent for Fasth in a matchup in this region.
