Outright Picks - Australasian Tour

Australian PGA Championship
FINAL RESULT: 0-3; -4.50pts
Parry 9th
Leaney 13th
Chalmers 20th
Looked promising before the weekend when Chalmers and
Parry had appeared in the top-5, but the frustration on this Tour in
2004 continues.
Outright plays (1.5pts):
Craig Parry to win 22/1 e.w. @
BetInternet,
BetDirect
and
Totalbet
In his last five visits to the Hyatt Coolum Resort, Parry has finished
in the top-3 four times, winning once. There are few who can match that
degree of course specialism! So with his game in good shape - he has
just finished in the top-15 in his last three starts and ranked 1st in
driving accuracy and in the top-10 in greens in regulation last week -
he could certainly continue his run of high finishes here.
Stephen Leaney to win 22/1 e.w. @
Bet365
and
BetInternet
No recent course history for Leaney, though he did finish 8th on his
last visit in 1996. It has been a long time, but it is not enough to
negate a play on someone who has done particularly well in this country.
Before last week, he had finished 2nd in his previous two starts in
Australia and during the first nine holes on Sunday, it looked as though
he might even better that mark at The Australian. He faded on the back
nine, but he is certainly worth another punt at these odds.
Greg Chalmers to finish in the top-five 16/1 e.w.
@ GolfingGods
Chalmers faded rather earlier than Leaney last week after lying 2nd
after the first round. He did close with a 69 to finish in the top-15
and that was his third top-15 finish in his last four starts; the other
two being on the PGA Tour. In that form and with a record of two top-5
finishes in his last three visits to the Hyatt Coolum Resort, he looks
well-equipped to contend again. However, he is not the best at closing
out tournaments, so a place-only bet seems the best option.

with numerous other online operations going bankrupt and not refunding
