Tanihara 4th
Ozaki 14th
Fujita 1st Not a bad final week as swansongs go! Next week we have a
new tipster for this page. Commanding performance by Tanihara who led by
three, five and two shots after the first three rounds and when he was
caught early in the final round, he recorded three birdies in a row to
regain his control of this tournament.
Outright

The Tour's rookie of the Year in 2003, a three-time winner on this Tour
and now a PGA Tour Card holder after finishing 21st at Q-School,
Tanihara is certainly a player to watch in future years. He has played
twice on this Tour in 2005, first in the season-opening and
snow-disrupted Token Homemate Cup when he finished in the top-10 and
again last week in the Japan PGA Championship when he finished 2nd. With
finishes of 9th and 27th on this course already, there is good reason to
expect this young player to once again challenge for a Japan Tour title.
Joe Ozaki to win 25/1 e.w. @

Joe may be the youngest of the Ozaki brothers, but he is no youngster.
However, that didn't stop him winning back-to-back titles in the last
month. Add in an 11th place finish on his last visit to this course and
a 13th place finish last week when attempting to win three consecutive
events and these looks decent odds on the hottest player on Tour at the
moment. Hiroyuki Fujita to win 25/1 e.w. @

With top-15 finishes in all four starts this year, Fujita is not too far
behind in the form stakes and he completes a trio of players in the
top-5 in scoring average on the 2005 Japan Tour. A winner on Tour last
year and with a top-5 finish on this course last year as well, he really
shouldn't be too far from the leading group on Sunday. |
