Outright Picks - Nationwide Tour

Tipster: Stanley

Odds: Outright

BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs

FINAL RESULT: 1-2; +29.25pts

Tidland 29th
Alker mc
Bertsch 1st

That was one lucky win! And much needed too! Weather in the U.S. once again caused havoc and cancelled Saturday's play reducing this to a 54-hole event, so with Bertsch best-placed in 22nd it looked like the event was lost as an interest, particularly as he was playing the host, and thus the hardest, course. But as this was still a multi-course event, he played the final round without the normal pressure of being in contention and shot the low score of the day and a total that no-one could match on the other courses. A most unexpected win!

Outright plays (total stake per play: 1pt)

Chris Tidland to win 33/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
Ignoring his indifferent form in this event over the last two years, though he has at least made the cut each time, and concentrating on his consistency. In his last ten Nationwide Tour events, he has finished in the top-10 seven times. He was very unlucky to miss out on the last automatic PGA Tour Card via the Nationwide Tour Money List last year - he finished less than $3,000 behind Gavin Coles - but currently sits in the top-10 and if he maintains this consistency, he will be on the main Tour next year.

Steven Alker to win 33/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
Much more a case of course form here. Alker has finished in the top-15 in each of the last two years and that is where he also finished last week. With 7th place finishes in Panama and New Zealand on this Tour, he is certainly a player that can challenge for honours on this Tour.

Shane Bertsch to win 50/1 e.w. @ GolfingGods
And course form here. With finishes of 10th, 11th and 3rd in the last three years, he is clearly a player who prospers on these courses and in the pro-am format. Really should have gained his PGA Tour Card last year, but completely lost his game in mid-summer, missing nine of eleven cuts, but still only finishing $9,000 behind Gavin Coles. His confidence has returned and he already has a runners-up finish in Panama. In this event, he could certainly add another.
