Outright Picks - Southern Africa Tour

Tipster: Stanley

Odds: Outright

Dimension Data Pro-Am

FINAL RESULT: 1-2; +0.00pts

Van Der Walt 3rd
McLardy 14th
Moore mc

Van Der Walt got within a shot of the lead early on Sunday, but never threatened to win after that. Clear in 3rd place, but finished seven shots behind the winner.

Outright plays (1pt):

Tjaart Van Der Walt to win 20/1 e.w. @ BetInternet, William Hill, BlueSq and GolfingGods
In good form, both recently and on this course. He will have been disappointed with his 8th place finish last week after being in the lead after 54 holes, but this is a far weaker field on view this week. And with top-15 finishes in each of his six appearances in this event, this looks a good opportunity to make amends for last Sunday's collapse.

Andrew McLardy to win 28/1 e.w. @ SkyBet, Stan James, Victor Chandler and BetFred
McLardy is another who played very well last week with his finishing position not telling the whole story. He had been in 4th place heading into the weekend, but rounds of 75 and 73 saw him tumble down the leaderboard. But with finishes of 6th and 2nd in the last two years here and two wins in non-co-sanctioned events in South Africa last year, he looks less likely to suffer from leaderboard pressure in this regular Southern Africa Tour event.

Titch Moore to win 28/1 e.w. @ Stan James
Moore was a second member of the four South Africans who led last week's event with one round to play and he suffered the same fate as van Der Walt, shooting 74 to finish 8th. But like McLardy, he has won a regular Southern Africa Tour event in the past year - the Platinum Classic in October - so should feel much less pressure this week with the European Tour in Singapore - and like the other two selections, he has a very good record at Sun City. In the last four years, he has recorded three top-5 finishes and the only time that he failed to do so, he still finished 11th. On paper, these three should go very close.
